Members of the Academy of Rehabilitation Psychology are those who have attained board certification as a specialist in Rehabilitation Psychology from the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology.

As a board-certified rehabilitation psychologist (ABRPs), you are automatically a member of the Academy of Rehabilitation Psychology (ARP). Briefly, the ARP is a membership organization that serves ABRPs and the field by advancing the science and clinical care in Rehabilitation Psychology through continuing education, advocacy, recruitment to the specialty, provision of forums for the expression of professional opinions, and promoting the value and recognition of ABPP board certification in Rehabilitation Psychology. Currently the Academy focuses on supporting the Mid-winter Conference, the Oxford Book Series and peer-led board preparation activities. The Academy is the newest organization in our rehabilitation psychology community.

ARP Board members are elected by a vote of active ABRP members and serve three-year terms with an option to serve two terms. The Board of ARP is currently seeking three new Members at Large to serve January 2021-December 2024. Responsibilities include: attend monthly virtual board meetings and participate in subcommittee work.  The Board encourages all members to apply and especially those from diverse backgrounds to foster greater representation of people of color, women, people with disabilities, and early career psychologists. If you have served in a leadership position within rehabilitation psychology in the past, you have experienced the sense of collegiality and shared purpose that comes with such service.  If you are new to board membership, we are eager to support and mentor you along the way. Elections will be held no less than 30 days after nominations close and candidates are announced.
